Among my family members are a little border terrier named Selkie, a prissy and sweet cornish rex cat named Nelly, a comical red-bellied parrot named Cutie Pie, and a spunky (no longer little) tortoise named Tortie.

I love getting to know and love the client's pets. They have such different personalities and each is so precious and special.

Funniest pet experience:

Oh gosh, where do I start?! It seems that every time I look one of my pets is doing something that makes me laugh. My little parrot Cutie Pie lives in our living room, and during the day we let her out of her cage and she usually perches on the top or climbs around. When she knows I am home, but in another room, she'll let out a certain whistle and I'll whistle back to her. One day I was working on the computer in a room down the hall, whistling back and forth with her, and we stopped after a little bit. Minutes later I saw this little head peak around the corner. She had jumped off her cage and walked all the way across the house to find me. It caught me so off-guard and was so cute that I burst out laughing.

Our pets teach us the beauty of unconditional love and remind us to enjoy the simple things in life.
